How do you know if a cosmetic product is water based or oil-free?
I read advice that recommended a water based or oil-free cosmetics for oily skin, but they never show you what ingredients to look for or avoid in these products …. How do you know if a cosmetic product (like a powder blush, foundation, etc. ..) is water based and oil free?
it will usually say Packaging in lowercase characters, usually if it does not say "oil free" or "water based", then obviously it is not. Another way to know if the makeup is oil-free is if it has an "active ingredient" salicilic acid (usually about 0.6%). If you really want to be sure … read the ingredients, or simply stick to those who are actually hydrocarbons free cool as Rimmel, Maybelline makeup and Almay Pure Makeup For Oily / Acne skin.
